President Asif Ali Zardari and visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud
Abbas laid the foundation stone of Embassy of the State of Palestine in
the diplomatic enclave Islamabad.
The site for the proposed embassy building was allocated by former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.
Pakistan will provide 50 percent of the two million dollars construction cost.
It is the first Embassy of the State of Palestine in any country after it has got observer status in the United Nations.
